Missionary debriefing is a relational and intentional process that provides an opportunity for a missionary to tell their story–verbally processing past and recent events from their point of view, complete with their emotional responses at the time and since then. (Jeff Jackson; Shepherd’s Staff)

Relational and intentional – both vital components of effective debriefing. Many missionaries are not even aware that such a thing as debriefing exists. (You and I can help enlighten them.)

Others know about it but have never experienced it, so they place a low value on it. We’ll talk more about that in another post.

But in order to move effectively into the future; in order to capitalize on what God has been and is doing in their lives and ministries, missionaries need to tell their story to someone. Someone who is trained to listen well.

And that, in a nutshell, is what Recalibrate! is all about. Our staff of trained debriefers will partner with God to help you get the most from your experiences on the field.
